Paypal Fines for gambling adult material and prescription drugs

Paypal's new policy will take effect September 24th, 2004. PayPal's new policy will fine people up to $500 for using paypal for gambling, adult orientated content or services and buying or selling prescription drugs from noncertified sellers.

Not only can PayPal now fine you for each violation, PayPal may take it one step further and take legal action against you! Paypal claims this would occur only if their losses were in excess of the fines.

"What you're seeing here is an evolution of our program. We're trying to deter people who would offer PayPal as a way to pay for anything in these categories," said Pires in an interview.
