Microsoft Drops bCentral

Microsoft will no longer be offering web hosting through bCentral, instead they will provide the same service under the Microsoft name. If you attempt to visit bCentral you will be automatically directed to Microsoft's Small Business Center. Microsoft's Small Business Center offers web hosting plans starting at $29.95 a month with domain registrations at $20.00 a year. According to Microsofot current customers will not encounter any changes with the service.

bCentral hosting has been runing as a private-label reseller through XO Communications. It appears the relationship between XO and Microsoft has remained unchanged. Microsoft hosts bCentral.com but bcentralhost.com still resides at XO Communications as well as previous bCentral clients.

Microsoft believes that providing web hosting under their well known Microsoft name (instead of bCentral) will help increase sales.
