Update PHP 4.3.10

Last Updated: November 30, -0001

Since the release of the script that will compromise a phpBB forum it is now become top priority for web hosts and independent server owners to upgrade PHP.

How to upgrade PHP on a cPanel Server.

1. Login to WHM as root.

2. Scroll down to "Software" Click: Update Apache

3. Select version Version 4.3.10 or Version 5.0.3 (TESTING) [However - note that 5.0.3 is testing for cPanel and may not run scripts properly]

4. Select the other options you need, and then press "Start Build". This may take a couple minutes so relax.

The new versions of PHP require a new version of Zend Optimizer. Some scripts simply will NOT work without the new version of Zend Optimizer. We must install zend optimizer after upgrading to php 4.3.10 or 5.0.3

How to Install Optimizer / How to Update Zend Optimizer

5. Login to your server via SSH as root.

6. Type: /scripts/installzendopt

7. Follow the instructions on the screen, if you have not moved any of the config files then simply agreeing, and continueing will work. Once the install is done you will reboot apache (zend should automatically) and then you will be upgraded.
